FAQs
What is a CSA?
CSA is an abbreviation for Community Supported Agriculture. When you sign up for our CSA, you purchase a "share" of our flowers for the upcoming growing season. Your purchase of a CSA is an investment into our farm and allows us to invest in seeds, supplies, and equipment before our growing season takes bloom.
How long should I expect my flowers to last?
First, it's important to note that vase life varies significantly between different flower varieties. Dahlias, for example, are one of the most requested flowers. We like to say that Dahlias are here for a good time but not a long time. We only expect 3-5 days out of them on average. On the other hand, Lisianthus or Ranunculus can last 12-14 days in a vase.
What happens if I am on vacation and cannot pick up my flowers on a particular pick-up date?
If you are out of town during a pick-up day, we encourage you to spread some joy through flowers by gifting that week’s CSA to a friend or neighbor.
How can I make my flowers last longer?
Start with a clean vase.
Gently strip the leaves off of the stem so no leaves fall below the waterline.
Cut each stem at a 45-degree angle with a clean sharp knife or scissors.
Change the water every 2-3 days.
Don’t be afraid to pull the dead flowers out of the arrangement or pull off bad petals
Keep flowers away from ripening fruit and out of direct sunlight.
How long can my flowers be out of water when I pick them up?
We recommend no longer than 30 minutes in a cool vehicle. If you are going to be out longer I suggest you bring a cup of water for the flowers on the ride home. They will thank you later.
What day is the pick-up or Delivery for Falcon/Peyton?
Pick-ups will be on Friday from 9am-7pm at Kopi Den off of Woodmen/Academy. Delivery days for Falcon/Peyton will be announced in your welcome email.
Two years ago, I found myself teaching a floral workshop using flowers I had purchased from a local wholesaler. During the workshop, a young girl approached me with curiosity, asking if I had grown these beautiful blooms and if she could visit my flower garden. With a warm smile, I explained to her that while it would be a wonderful idea, growing flowers was something I could never do and beyond my capabilities. Little did I know God was working in ways far beyond my own imagination.
Fast forward to today, as I step outside each day to harvest these flowers, I am struck by awe and humility at the masterpiece created by a loving God. I am immensely grateful for the current season of life I find myself in, recognizing it as a unique opportunity provided by a loving Father. As I reflect on the journey, I am left in wonderment about the future that lies ahead.
If you carry a dream within your heart, one that may appear impossible, take heart. I can attest to a God that specializes in the impossible. I wish I could find that little girl and invite her to my garden and show her all things are possible with God! Even dreams of growing flowers!
